judersonservices

As of June 12 2008, the tropics remains tranquil with no areas that a possibility to develope. The tropical wave east of the Lesser Antilles is continues to produce sporadic showers and thunderstorm, thus, enhancing the chance of precipitation among the Lesser Antilles. However, no substantial development is expected because of the high upper level winds blowing over 20 knots which stifle development for tropical cyclones. The second area of interest is a tropical disturbance located about 150 miles Northeast of the Yucatan Peninsula. Despite the fact that the conditions is expected to become more favorable for further development, the area of disturbed should be moving to the southern U.S. about 24-36 hours from now. Consequently, this system has little or no chance to develope.
Meanwhile, the GFS model continues to develope a very dynamic tropical wave to an area of low pressure about early next week about 40 degrees west. Nevertheless, it is nothing to get the adrenaline pumping because conditions will only be maginarily favorable for development, but, worth keeping an eye on.
