Tropical Update 6/20/08

judersonservices

As of today June 20th, the tropics remains quiet with no immediate threats. However, the enormous patch of dry air is weakening over the Caribbean sea, thus, allowing the tropical wave near the lesser Antilles to flare up with some vigorous convection. Nevertheless, upper level winds remain extremely favorable for development for the majority of the tropical Atlantic. About 120+ hours from now, upper level winds are expected to become more favorable at the western Caribbean. Consequently, this area needs to be monitored next week.
